Buy the Solar Tee and Sweater sewing pattern from Papercut Patterns. This relaxed fit tee or sweater is a year-round wardrobe staple, and a super quick make! Perfect as a basic to throw on with any ensemble, or a little sweeter with the ruffle sleeves. The Solar pattern features drop shoulders, short and long sleeve options, and hem and cuff bands for the sweater versions.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following format:

- PAPER (next working day dispatch on orders and FREE UK  over £50). This pattern was recently renamed. While we sell our remaining stock of paper patterns, the pattern you receive will have the former name (Kyoto Tee and Sweater). 

Suggested fabrics:

Long or short sleeve tee: Light to medium weight knit or woven fabrics. Cotton, silk, rayon, linen and blends.

Sweater: Medium weight jersey knit fabrics.

Fabric requirements:

Sizes 1 - 8

Sweater: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 1.45 m (1.6 yd).

Long sleeve: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 1.4 m (1.55 yd) // 114 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.1 m (2.3 yd).

Short sleeve: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 1.15 m (1.25 yd) // 114 cm (45") wide fabric: 1.9 m (2 yd).

Sizes 6 - 14

Sweater: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2 - 2.6 m (2.2 - 2.85 yd) // 114 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.75 m (3 yd).

Long sleeve: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.8 - 2 m (2 - 2.2 yd) // 114 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.5 m (2.75 yd).

Short sleeve: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.8 - 2 m (2 - 2.2 yd) // 114 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.3 m (2.5 yd).

Sizing: 1 - 8 (approx. UK 4 – 20, based on our ) or 6 – 14 (approx. UK 18 – 36, based on our ). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

Note: If you fit into both size ranges and are unsure which to purchase, the 6 – 14 size range has been drafted for a larger bust cup and a curvier figure. The 1 – 8 size range is based on a dressmaker’s B cup and a 5’3″ – 5’7″ height. The 6 – 14 size range is based on a dressmaker’s D cup and a 5’3″ – 5’8″ height. To determine your dressmaker’s cup size, measure your full bust and upper bust and subtract. Each 2.5 cm (1″) difference equates to one cup size.
